Heels to face early test

Tyler Hansbrough, Danny Green, Deon Thompson and the rest of UNC’s basketball players have been itching to get back on the court since last March 25, when the season ended in the NCAA Tournament East Regional championship game. Today is the day they get to scratch. North Carolina, the No. 1 team in both national polls, will open its season against Davidson, an old in-state rival from the Southern Conference. Tipoff is 7 p.m. (Winston-Salem Journal)
