UNC, State have reason for football optimism in 2012

There’s no reason to believe that UNC is getting ready to take a major step backwards. In fact, the opposite could end up happening. With a stockpile of offensive weapons – including a record-setting running back in Giovani Bernard, a top quarterback in Bryn Renner and proven wide receivers in Erik Highsmith and Jheranie Boyd – the Tar Heels could be even more explosive than ever under Fedora’s difficult-to-defend spread system.
