Butch Davis perplexed by UNC's early missteps

Butch Davis doesn't have a definitive answer, but he has developed a theory. That's about all North Carolina's football coach can do when it comes to explaining his team's tendency to get off to poor starts this season. The Tar Heels (3-7, 2-4 ACC), who play at Georgia Tech (6-4, 3-4) on Saturday (noon, WRAL), have gone scoreless in the first quarter in seven of their last eight games, including the last four in a row.
