Rivalry Rally Falls Short

T.J. Yates stood on the N.C. State seven-yard line with 0:21 left on the game clock and four downs in his back pocket with an opportunity to steal a win against rival N.C. State. The Tar Heels failed to convert, however, and the Wolfpack claimed a 31-27 victory in thrilling fashion. Yates drove his offense 56 yards in 1:39 to set up the dramatic final series of downs, and N.C. State broke up a fade pattern to Hakeem Nicks on fourth down.
