UNC’s national championship hopes took a severe blow Thursday when defensive stopper Dexter Strickland’s right knee buckled while driving to the basket against Virginia Tech. A day later, the Tar Heels’ worst fears were realized when an MRI showed Strickland had torn his ACL and will be sidelined for the rest of the season. (Wilmington Star News)
