UNC escapes Maryland with 83-74 win

Harrison Barnes put North Carolina ahead for good with a 3-pointer with 9:19 to play against Maryland on Saturday. Then, later, Barnes made a jumper with about a minute to play to help put the game out of reach. He scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half to help lead the fifth-ranked Tar Heels to an 83-74 victory against the Terrapins at the Comcast Center.
