Tar Heels sloppy in rout of Shaw

The Tar Heels won their exhibition opener 114-62, but was disappointed with their defense and their 17 turnovers Saturday night. Another bad sign for North Carolina? It missed its first eight 3-point attempts and didn't make any threes until walk-ons and scored in the final two minutes. That didn't matter against Shaw, a Division II school from Raleigh, but it will against more talented opponents. (Charlotte Observer)
