Heels finally win a close one

When saw Maryland quarterback Chris Turner's final pass fly out-of-bounds on a fourth-quarter 4th-and-2, the UNC defensive tackle felt relief. Then joy. Then hope. UNC's defense-driven victory on Saturday broke a two-game losing streak and kept its slim bowl hopes. But perhaps more important: It was a confidence boost to a young team that was previously 1-4 this season in games decided by seven or fewer points. (Raleigh News & Observer)
