P.J. Hairston, Bench Show Progress Despite Loss

In what felt like an instant, P.J. Hairston went from igniting a stagnant UNC offense to walking off the Philips Arena court under the consoling arm of Kendall Marshall, confetti cruelly raining down upon him. With the Tar Heels down 85-82 to Florida State in the ACC tournament title game, Hairston launched a Hail Mary 3-pointer from around 30 feet that clanked off the backboard — marking a sour end to Hairston’s otherwise resurgent day.
