Spurned by NCAA, UNC women decline invitation to WNIT

The North Carolina women’s basketball season has come to an abrupt end after the team decided not to participate in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). That choice was made after the Tar Heels, who finished with a 20-11 record (9-7 in the ACC), was left out of the NCAA Tournament field Monday for the first time since 2001.
