Lack of effort doomed Tar Heels

For a team that spent all last week because of an open date working on its problems, North Carolina looked dazed and confused all yesterday afternoon against Wake Forest. The Tar Heels committed crucial mistakes, starting on the game’s first offensive play when quarterback T.J. Yates’ pass was intercepted, and absorbed a 37-10 pounding at BB&T Field that left Coach Butch Davis fuming. (Winston-Salem Journal)
