UNC win costly: PG Marshall suffers fractured wrist
Posted Mar 18, 2012
UNC beat Creighton 87-73 Sunday to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Afterward, though, coach Roy Williams and the Tar Heels were in anything but a celebrating mood because of a potentially disastrous injury to point guard Kendall Marshall. The sophomore floor leader suffered a fracture of the scaphoid bone in his right wrist after being knocked to the floor on a foul by Ethan Wragge with 10:56 remaining.
