Roy Williams rooting for KU, to a point
Posted Mar 22, 2012
Should both teams advance, Kansas and UNC would meet Sunday in the Elite Eight, at which point Roy Williams’ allegiance would be undivided. “I’m a North Carolina fan first,” he said. Williams spent 15 years as KU’s coach, leading the Jayhawks to four Final Four appearances. He left in 2003 to coach UNC, where he started his career as an assistant and guided the Tar Heels to national championships in 2005 and 2009.
