No. 13 Ohio was 25 seconds from becoming the lowest seed to reach the Round of 8 since the N.C.A.A. tournament expanded in 1985. But top-seeded North Carolina, playing without its dynamic point guard, Kendall Marshall, turned back a furious Bobcats rally on Friday night and prevailed, 73-65, in overtime in a Midwest Regional semifinal.
