Tar Heels walk past Elon

North Carolina didn’t need to string together hits to walk all over Elon University in Wednesday night’s non-league baseball game at Boshamer Stadium. “We’re known for getting deep in the counts,” Tar Heels center fielder said after the team’s 11-3 victory that was reduced to seven-plus innings by rain. “It feels good to score that many runs.” Elon pitchers walked 12 batters and hit three others.
