Posted Apr 13, 2012
Senior catcher Jacob Stallings delivered a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 10th inning Friday night and closer Michael Morin shut the door for his ninth save of the year as No. 8 Carolina claimed a 2-1 win at No. 23 Virginia in 10 innings. Sophomore Kent Emanuel turned in a masterful performance on the mound as the southpaw retired the first nine batters he faced and did not allow a hit until the fifth inning.
