Durell Mapp, a former walk-on, wanted to prove he deserved to play for a major-college program
Posted Oct 24, 2007
The best thing that ever happened to Durell Mapp was an evaluation from a college recruiter that he took as an insult. The perceived slight made him angry. And it helped make him the football player that he is today. “I was definitely angry,” Mapp said. “I actually keep that anger to this day. It’s what I thrive off of every day and every time I go out there on the field. It goes through my head that I’ve got to prove myself to everybody.”
