Durell Mapp, a former walk-on, wanted to prove he deserved to play for a major-college program

And it helped make him the football player that he is today. “I was definitely angry,” Mapp said. “I actually keep that anger to this day. It’s what I thrive off of every day and every time I go out there on the field. It goes through my head that I’ve got to prove myself to everybody.” (Winston-Salem Journal)
