As solid as Daniel Bard has been through the first two starts of his big league career — a bunch of seeing-eye singles in a loss in Toronto to the Blue Jays, then a shutout into the seventh inning at home against the Tampa Bay Rays — the Red Sox bullpen is a mess, and he is by far the best in-house candidate to begin the tear-down renovation.
