Luke Putkonen called up by Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers optioned pitcher Thad Weber to Triple-A Toledo this morning and will call up right-handed reliever Luke Putkonen. The move was made, in part, to strengthen the Tigers bullpen after a stretch of six games has taxed the team’s relievers. (Detroit Free Press)
