Hubert Davis surprised by UNC opportunity

Hubert Davis had thought about coaching, but he didn’t want to uproot his three young children from Chapel Hill. He said that if Kentucky or Kansas had offered him a job, he would have said no. Of course, like many former Tar Heels, he entertained the thought of going back to UNC. But since there hadn’t been any turnover in Williams’ nine years at the helm, he never considered it a real possibility.
