Tonight’s State-UNC showdown more meaningful for Wolfpack

The second-seeded Tar Heels would have still been in championship contention had the Deacons beaten the Hurricanes. But because they didn’t, UNC was eliminated from the final – even if it beats State – because of tie-breakers in the round robin format. UNC will also play tonight’s game without head coach , who is suspended after being ejected from Thursday night’s loss to Miami. (Wilmington Star News)
