Following hard hit, Tate's absence leaves void on Tar Heels' offense

No timetable for North Carolina receiver Brandon Tate’s return to action was given by coach Butch Davis, but the open date on the schedule this week should help Tate and other Tar Heels heal. Tate, a junior receiver / return specialist out of Cummings High School, left with a head injury that was later described as a concussion during North Carolina’s 21-15 loss Saturday to visiting South Carolina.
