The white sweat band on quarterback T.J. Yates' left wrist was marked in all caps with the words STAND TOUGH. The Tar Heels have done just that through a murderous five-week stretch of games against teams with a combined record of 28-6 and three Top 25 postings (South Florida, Virginia Tech and South Carolina).
