UNC, South Carolina have ties

Steve Spurrier isn’t the only South Carolina coach who will be returning to Chapel Hill and Kenan Stadium on Saturday when the Gamecocks play North Carolina. Brad Lawing and Fred Chatham, two of Spurrier’s assistants, coached at UNC, and Chatham got his degree from the school. Lawing is South Carolina’s defensive-line coach, and Chatham is the tight-ends coach. (Winston-Salem Journal)
