Remember the scene in “Hoosiers” when coach Norman Dale orders the player assigned to guard the other team’s star to stick close enough to tell the flavor of the opponent’s chewing gum? Welcome to the field hockey version, courtesy of U.S. midfielder Katelyn Falgowski. Falgowski played the most important role in helping the Americans knock off Argentina, 1-0, on Tuesday at the Olympics.
