Matt Harvey, a young pitcher with the mien and aura of an honor student, received the next lesson on his major league syllabus: how to fail. Harvey gave up seven extra-base hits and two home runs Sunday at Petco Park, a stadium known for its generosity to pitchers, as the Mets fell to the San Diego Padres, 7-3. (New York Times)
