The 4-2-5 employed by Vic Koenning, Dan Disch and the Tar Heel defensive staff uses hybrid players: a 'Bandit,' defensive end/linebacker, and a 'Ram,' linebacker/safety. Larry Fedora has stacked the defensive backfield to bolster a passing defense that was 78th nationally a year ago.
