Short-handed Tar Heels to play catch as catch can

To keep the no-huddle spread offense moving as quickly and efficiently as possible, offensive coordinator Blake Anderson hopes to use eight or nine different wide receivers when North Carolina faces Elon Saturday (12:30 p.m.). But the Tar Heels have only two wideouts – Erik Highsmith and Jheranie Boyd — who have ever caught a pass in college.
