Giovani Bernard ready for bigger workload

Giovani Bernard’s performance capped a banner day for UNC, which blew out Elon 62-0 Saturday. The only concern came in the second quarter, when the tailback left the game with a left knee injury and didn’t return. But Bernard said Monday that he was taken out as a precaution, and he won’t be limited in practice this week heading into UNC’s conference opener at Wake Forest (Saturday, 3 p.m.).
