Spurrier’s rout at Duke not forgotten at UNC

Steve Spurrier knows his South Carolina players are not old enough to remember the last time he took a team to North Carolina. But there are UNC fans who will never forget. In his final regular-season game at Duke, Spurrier incensed the Tar Heels by continuing to throw and run trick plays near the end of the Blue Devils’ 41-0 victory in 1989, which clinched the ACC title for Duke.
