Nazair Jones battled unknown illness before committing to UNC

Across his yellow Nike shirt is printed the word “UNFAIR” in large, bold letters. The word could be taken in a number of ways: unfair to other players because , UNC’s four-star class of 2013 football commitment, is so athletic that he can play almost any position on the defensive line; unfair to other schools that UNC bolstered its nationally-ranked recruiting class by signing Jones; or — and perhaps the best interpretation — unfair to Jones, because he was diagnosed with a rare disorder that caused him to lose nearly 50 pounds and left him pondering his future in football.
