Junior quarterback Will Grier is using his short passing game as an effective substitute for a running game at Davidson Day (N.C.). The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder completed passes to eight different receivers Friday night while leading the Patriots to a 53-21 victory over Parkwood (Monroe, N.C.). He finished with a near-perfect 30-for-34 night with 505 yards and eight touchdowns. He threw one interception.
