Roy Williams had surgery to remove a tumor from his right kidney Wednesday at UNC Hospitals. Dr. Edward Rampersaud, a urologic oncologist at the Duke Cancer Institute who specializes in kidney cancer, said that in general, patients are walking either the same day or the next day after the operation. They are able to sit at a desk after a couple weeks and are raring to go after about four to six weeks.
