Tar Heels hold off Hurricanes 33-27
Posted Oct 7, 2007
Miami’s players danced on the Kenan Stadium turf yesterday, but North Carolina’s players were the ones enjoying a 33-27 win at the end of a long, hard-fought afternoon. Hakeem Nicks smothered an onside kick at the Miami 45-yard line with 77 seconds left to lock up the victory against Coach Butch Davis’ old school. Nicks’ catch was the last of at least 13 crucial plays for North Carolina, mostly of the defensive nature.
