North Carolina dominated the first 30 minutes of play and then held on for dear life Saturday afternoon, as head coach Butch Davis earned an impressive 33-27 victory over his former Miami Hurricanes in front of 59,000 at Kenan Stadium. “We talked this week about wanting to start fast,” Davis said. “We wanted to get off to a good start. And I don’t think you could have scripted a better way to start.”
