Davis, Shannon have crossed paths before

Butch Davis faces the question often: Does he ever think about might have been? Reporters can't help but wonder, given that Davis is leading his UNC football team into a game with Miami today at Kenan Stadium. Davis was head coach at Miami from 1995-2000, overcoming scholarship reductions resulting from violations before he got there as he rebuilt the program into a national-championship contender.
