Christian Russell's path to playing college football has taken some detours

Christian Russell remains a special talent today. But a series of events altered his plans and life forever in 2011. Nagging injuries hindered Russell during his senior year at Hoke. His statistics dropped dramatically and the Bucks finished just 3-8. The struggles continued for Russell off the field. As he started his final semester at Hoke, it became evident he wasn't going to score high enough on the SAT or ACT college entrance tests to enroll at UNC. (Fayetteville Observer)
