Giovani Bernard goes off for 262 yards in 48-34 UNC win over Virginia Tech

North Carolina put its fastbreak offense to good use, scorching Virginia Tech for 533 total yards -- including 339 on the ground -- in a 48-34 win over the Hokies on Saturday. Giovani Bernard rushed for a career-high 262 yards on the game on 23 carries, becoming the first Tar Heels player to rush for more than 200 yards in a game since Ronnie McGill ran for 244 against Wake Forest in 2003.
