North Carolina overpowers Virginia Tech

North Carolina had too much offensive firepower for the Hokies, rolling up 533 yards in a 48-34 win today at Kenan Stadium. Running back Giovani Bernard had 262 rushing yards and a score and quarterback Bryn Renner threw for 194 yards and had two total touchdowns, giving the Tar Heels (4-2, 1-1) their first win at home against the Hokies since Tech joined the ACC.
