The Tar Heels present a special challenge to a defense that gave up more than 7 yards per rushing attempt to Virginia Tech — Duke’s defenders agree that UNC back Giovani Bernard is the best they’ve faced this season, and they are more than aware that stopping him is key Saturday. Cornerback Ross Cockrell said it’s not just the line and linebackers who are concentrating on Bernard.
