If the Tar Heels needed a reminder of the significance of this game (against NC State), they had to look no further than their own locker room. At first, Jonathan Cooper, the Heels’ senior offensive guard, thought the locker room had been vandalized. Then it became clear that all the red wasn’t a sign of vandalism at all. The locker room looked exactly the way coach Larry Fedora and his staff wanted it to look.
