Kendric Williams, a former walk-on who'd worked his way into the starting lineup for North Carolina as a senior, is out for the season with a knee injury, the school announced Monday. Williams tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Virginia Tech's opening drive Saturday in North Carolina's 17-10 loss at Blacksburg, Va. He started the first five games of the season at left cornerback and made 16 tackles.
