It’s been just shy of 20 months since Leslie McDonald played in a basketball game that counted. Now that the lengthy layoff is nearing its final hours, excitement, expectation and concern await the junior guard. “I wish we could play right now,” McDonald told reporters on Thursday afternoon, roughly 30 hours before North Carolina opens the 2012-13 season against Gardner-Webb.
