Junior guard Leslie McDonald scored a career-high 24 points and handed out a career-high five assists in his first career start. Tar Heels played without freshman point guard Marcus Paige, who strained his left shoulder in practice on Friday. Senior Dexter Strickland played in his 100th game as a Tar Heel and made his 67th start, but it was his first collegiate start at the point.
