Daugherty liked Majerus because Dean Smith did

Brad Daugherty went on to become an All-American at North Carolina and an NBA all-star while Rick Majerus eventually became a head coach and won 517 games at four different schools before dying of heart failure Saturday night at age 64. Daugherty never played for Majerus, but he had an appreciation of him mainly because of former North Carolina coach Dean Smith.
