North Carolina vs. East Carolina: Three to know

North Carolina coach Roy Williams was a Dean Smith assistant in the mid-1980s when he helped recruit current East Carolina coach Jeff Lebo to Chapel Hill. Before leaving for Kansas, Williams spent three seasons working with Lebo, who scored 1,567 points from 1985-89. ECU senior Shamarr Bowden, the Pirates' oldest player, was born several months after Lebo's college career ended. (Fayetteville Observer)
