Stifling defense energizes crowd, propels UNC over Maryland
Posted Jan 19, 2013
Forcing turnovers that whipped the sizable crowd into a frenzy, the Tar Heels took control in the opening minutes and held on for a 62-52 victory. "I thought their crowd was much better today than it was on senior night when we played here last year," Maryland coach Mark Turgeon said. "It was a hungry team and a hungry crowd. It was a team that needed a win, and they played like it."
