Ex-Cummings duo honored by ACC for roles with Tar Heels
Posted Sep 11, 2007
Two Cummings High School graduates were so impressive on the football field that they received weekly ACC honors even though their UNC team lost a game. Linebacker Durell Mapp was selected the Defensive Back of the Week in the ACC. Teammate Brandon Tate was picked as the Specialist of the Week. Their performances were deemed worthy of special recognition despite the Tar Heels’ 34-31 loss Saturday night at East Carolina.
