Posted Sep 11, 2007
Two players from North Carolina were among six honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday. Linebacker Durrell Mapp and receiver Brandon Tate earned the league's weekly awards for defensive backs and specialists, respectively. Mapp had 18 tackles in the Tar Heels' loss to East Carolina, and Tate returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown -- his school-record-tying fifth kick or punt return for a score.
