Upset with his team’s play after it allowed N.C. State to rally from a 10-point deficit into the lead, North Carolina coach Roy Williams replaced all five players on the floor to issue them a challenge. Although the benching lasted only about two minutes, it was long enough to light a fire under the Tar Heels – who ran off an 18-2 spurt upon their return to pull away for a 76-65 win.
